STUDENT EMPLOYMENT

Markers

Student markers are required for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.  While applications are accepted year-round, positions are generally filled at the beginning of each semester.  Preference is given to current Math & Computer Science students who have demonstrated a good knowledge of the subject matter, usually reflected in course grades.
All students hired as markers will be asked to produce the following:
* SIN card - must be viewed and photocopied by the Admin Support
* Voided cheque or savings account information
* Application form (see link below)
* complete a Payroll Authorization Form (provided by Admin Support)
* sign a marker contract (provided by Admin Support)

In addition, international students need to show a current study permit, work visa (if available), and passport - THESE WILL BE PHOTOCOPIED AND SENT TO HUMAN RESOURCES.

To apply, please print the application form, complete and submit it to the Mathematics & Computer Science office (C526).

 Application - revised March 6.docx

STUDENT MARKING GUIDELINES contract.pdf - only to be completed by those students hired to mark

Student Marker Evaluation.pdf- completed by course instructors

Research Assistants

Upper-level students wishing to work as research assistants during the Summer should consult with a sponsoring professor in the previous Fall.  Funding is available through NSERC & Chinook Summer Scholarships.

Tutoring

The department maintains a list of people willing to tutor students in computer science, mathematics, and statistics.  Arrangements are determined between the student and tutor, and are independent of the department itself. If you want to be a tutor, please send your name and contact information to the department's administrative support, Barb Hodgson, hodgsonb@uleth.ca, C526, 403-329-2470.
