Our Facility is home to a 4.7T Animal MRI scanner which is located in the Canadian Center for Behavioural Neuroscience (CCBN). The animal MRI scanner has been at field for 5 years and is house inside the animal facility of the CCBN. This scanner has an Oxford 4.7T magnet with a 330mm horizontal bore. This system also uses a Magnetic Resonance MR6000 console with a two coil arrangement. This system is hooked up to the helium recovery system and this reduces the cryogen costs associated with the magnet by about 95%.For more information on the animal MRI system in the U of L Magnetic Resonance Facility please contact Dr. Albert Cross.
