The Liberal Education Program encourages you to develop the three dimensions of liberal education: the liberal arts, general intellectual background, and depth of knowledge.
Liberal Education is fundamental to the University of Lethbridge. It is the idea that a university education cultivates an attitude of freedom and the critical exploration of ideas.
Liberal Education will give you a broad survey of different disciplinary approaches in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences through a breadth of learning. Liberal Education courses teach critical thinking skills which enable you to gain the freedom and ability to ask questions without being tied to fashion or dogma.
Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of the Liberal Education Program, your courses will be taught as seminar series, with various instructors presiding over each session, and themes changing from term to term.
