The Department offers a major in Kinesiology for the 40-course Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), and Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc) degree programs. BA students may also declare Kinesiology as their Major for the Combined BA/BEd or BA/BMgt programs.
Bachelor of Arts: Investigates psychological, social, cultural, economic, and political influences that shape and limit opportunities for activity across the lifespan as well as studying the tremendous potential of sport and physical activity to bring pleasure and meaning to individuals and community.
Bachelor of Science: Investigates the anatomical, biomechanical, neurological and physiological characteristics that underlie human movement across the spectrum from basic tasks, such as reaching and walking, to elite sport performance. Within the Bachelor of Science you may elect a KNES or Exercise Science major, and are eligible to apply to the Athletic Therapy option as third-year visiting student at Mount Royal University.
