Resources & Information

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry has a Student Resource Centre (SRC) for Chem & Bchm majors to use. It has computers with Hyperchem, reference materials and model kits to use. Ask at the Department office for access to the SRC.

TUTORS - we do supply names of private tutors as they are available. If you would like to be a tutor, visit the Department office at E866 for more information or email chem@uleth.ca. Students primarily ask for tutors for first and second year classes.

In addition to regular course materials, many Departments and Program Coordinators have developed supplementary information sources, tutorials, clubs and more for students, other faculty members and the community at large.

Please see the list to the left of this text for more Department specific information and initiatives.

Program Planning Session for Chem & Bchm majors

Registration for Spring 2013 will be starting November 9, 2012. To help Chem & Bchm majors make informed choices about what classes to take, the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is having an information session, ”How to make the most out of your Program”.

Faculty members will go over the Program Planning Guides (PPG), identifying which courses must be taken in sequence and what courses are more flexible. This will help you to avoid delays due to lacking pre-requisites, so you can complete your degree in four years.

Individual program planning advice will be available for students after the presentation, so bring your completed PPG, tentative timetable for Fall 2012 and they can point out potential scheduling problems.

Faculty members will explain different opportunities to gain lab and research experience while you are a student.
