This year, the Faculty of Arts & Science is offering two new entrance awards, based on academic success and community involvement:
- Alberta 4-H Awards
- International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement Program Awards (IB/AP)
Alberta 4-H New High School Student Entrance Awards
Application:
Once you have applied to the University of Lethbridge for the Fall 2012 term, simply fill out the brief application form and we'll take care of the rest.
Deadline:
June 15, 2012.
Award Criteria:
15 awards of $1000 each will be given to selected applicants accepted as new high school students into the Faculty of Arts and Science BA, BSc or BASc programs, regardless of major, for the 2012/2013 academic year. The applicant must be an active member of an Alberta 4-H club at the time of application, and have a permanent mailing address within the province of Alberta prior to enrollment at the UofL. The student must be registered for the Spring 2013 to receive the funds. Winners will be chosen by random draw, with only one entry per person accepted.
Notification & Payment:
Selection and notification of the Alberta 4-H Entrance Awards will occur by July 1, 2012. Funds will be awarded no later than February15, 2013 and will be paid into the award winner’s Bridge account. If all course fees are up to date upon receipt of the award, a cheque will be drawn up in the name of the recipient. The award recipient must be registered for the Spring 2013 semester to receive the funds. Funds are non-transferable.
International Baccalaureate and/or Advanced Placement Programs (IB/AP) New High School Student Entrance Awards

Award Criteria:
5 awards of $2000 each will be conditionally offered to selected applicants accepted as new high school students into the Faculty of Arts and Science BA, BSc or BASc programs, regardless of major, for the 2012/2013 academic year. Application for this award will be based on successfully completed either; one or more Advanced Placement courses with a minimum AP result of 4, or the International Baccalaureate Program with a minimum IB Grade of 6, as outlined in the 2011/2012 University of Lethbridge Calendar (p31) in their first semester of grade 12. The student must be registered for the Spring 2013 to receive the funds. Winners will be chosen by random draw, with only one entry per person accepted. Awards offered to high school applicants based on predicted grades are subject to cancellation or changes to the award value if actual admission averages deviate more than 5 percent or drop below an actual admission average of 80 percent.
Notification & Payment:
Selection and notification of these awards will occur no later than April 1, 2012. Funds will be split into two equal awards of $1,000 each, available to the winner no later than October 1, 2012 and March 1, 2013 and will be paid into the award winner’s Bridge account. If all course fees are up to date upon receipt of the award, a cheque will be drawn up in the name of the recipient. The award recipient must be registered for the Spring 2013 semester to receive the funds. Funds are non-transferable.
