Dr. Shawn Bubel, Associate Professor

Shawn Bubel has worked on archaeological excavations throughout the world, including Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Poland, Belgium and Canada. Her research has focused on the disturbance of archaeological remains due to flora and faunaturbation. Some of Shawn's archaeological interests are geoarchaeology, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, human evolution, palaeolithic technology, neolithic of the Near East, postdepositional processes and soil genesis. Currently Shawn is completing the Fincastle Bison Kill Analysis and working with the lithics at Beth Shemesh in Israel. Visit Shawn's Homepage.

 

 


Dr. Kevin McGeough, Associate Professor

Kevin McGeough has participated in archaeological excavations in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey. Much of his work has involved the development of approaches to integrate textual and archaeological data, especially in regards to the Late Bronze Age city of Ugarit. Kevin attempts to approach the ancient world from a world historical perspective and as part of this approach was one of the editors of ABC-Clio’s World History Encyclopedia. As part of his current research program, Kevin is investigating how the ancient Near East has been presented to non-specialist audiences from the Early Modern Period to the present. Kevin is currently the editor of the American Schools of Oriental Research's Archaeological Report Series. Visit Kevin's Homepage.

 


Shaylene Wall, Sessional Instructor

Shaylene Wall has excavated locally at the Stampede Site in Cypress Hills, Alberta, and internationally at the site of Tel Beth Shemesh in Israel.  She has also participated in the faunal analysis at the Twin Rivers Site in Southern Alberta. Her research focuses on Art and Representation from Prehistoric Europe. Shay’s interests include; social archaeology, human evolution and iconography.

 

 

 

 


Dr. Walter Aufrecht, Professor Emeritus

Walter Aufrecht is the author of numerous works including A Corpus of Ammonite Inscriptions.
