Writing 2000: Writing in the Disciplines Series
Our Writing in the Disciplines Series consists of upper-level courses that focus on the rhetorical aspects of a particular discipline or theme. Students should expect to consider rhetorical and compositional elements at an advanced level, as well as to explore the ways that ideology and language shape--and are shaped by--the disciplines.
The Academic Writing Program usually offers at least one Writing in the Disciplines Series course per term, depending upon availability of instructors. Our slate of courses we have offered in the past includes The Rhetoric of Science and The Rhetoric of Medicine and Health; we are also developing two new courses: The Rhetoric of Busines and Writing and Technology. Writing 1000 is typically a pre-requisite for Writing 2000 courses.
If you are interested in enrolling in a scheduled course, or if you are interested in future courses to be offered in our Writing in the Disciplines Series, please contact us via email or visit one of the Academic Writing Program instructors on the fifth floor of University Hall (D-522 to D-524).
