The Academic Writing Program at the University of Lethbridge began as a pilot program in 2002. Developed as a collaboration between the Faculties of Arts and Science and Management, the program was created to help students develop effective university-level reading, writing, and reasoning skills—skills essential to becoming an effective participant in the modern research university, skills that are equally important in personal and professional contexts.
The Academic Writing Program current offers over forty courses on its Lethbridge, Calgary, and Edmonton campuses. For information about enrolling in a Writing 1000 class on any of our campuses, please see Academic Advising.
