Cultural Access Program

The University of Lethbridge Art Gallery is proud to announce our participation in the Institute for Canadian Citizenship’s (ICC) Cultural Access Pass (CAP) program.

The Cultural Access Pass is a program run by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship that encourages new citizens to curate their own Canadian experience in their first year of citizenship. By opening doors to Canadian culture, CAP helps new citizens generate a sense of belonging and engagement in their communities, and in Canada as a whole.

A gift to each Canadian citizen during their first year of citizenship, the Cultural Access Pass provides complimentary admission to more than 600 of Canada’s cultural treasures from coast-to-coast-to-coast. The Cultural Access Pass creates opportunities for Canada’s newest citizens to discover our rich cultural history, world-renowned artworks, historical figures and stunning parks.

The Institute for Canadian Citizenship is a national, non-profit organization that engages Canadians in citizenship through innovative programs, campaigns and partnerships designed to ensure new citizens are welcomed and included as equals, to create meaningful connections among all Canadian citizens and to foster a culture of active, engaged citizens.

CAP users that are looking for a fun and interactive activity to do while visiting our gallery should plan to attend our Culture Vulture Saturdays. The University of Lethbridge Art Gallery is open one Saturday per month from September through June each year for a day dedicated to creativity. In addition to providing an option to view the exhibition outside of our regular hours, these special Saturdays feature a hands-on art making activity related to the exhibition. The activities are geared to be flexible for all ages from kindergarten through to adults. All materials are supplied, admission is free, and no booking is required.
