Who We Are
Undergraduate Students
The requirements for general admission have been constant since 1994. The University worked to simplify transfer for students in transfer programs at colleges and provided post-diploma access to high-performing students in many professional diploma programs in colleges.
The University's growth is a reflection of our commitment to expanding access to address the challenge posed by the low rate of enrolment and graduation from university in Alberta.
Student enrolment at the University of Lethbridge has more than tripled over the last 30 years. Today the UofL boasts one of the fastest-growing post-secondary student populations in the country with more than 8,000 students from 62 countries – one of the most geographically diverse student populations in Alberta.
The U of L Faculty of Management has grown to more than 2,300 students at our three campuses in Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton. It is the largest undergraduate management/business program in Alberta.
Women continue to outperform men in graduating from high school in Alberta, as they do all over North America, and in participating in post-secondary education. The University falls close to the national average in male/female ratio.
Graduate Students
Masters enrolments have increased during the last decade. The PhD program has shown growth over the last five years.
Faculty and Staff

The number of faculty has grown in close parallel with the enrolment. The University places a high priority on maintaining its student/faculty ratio at levels that support the student faculty contact that makes the University desirable as a choice for undergraduate studies.
